Join this course to learn how to awaken your inner joy and bring strength, health and resilience to your body and calmness, peace and clarity to your mind and soul.

You'll safely learn the foundation practices of Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga taught by qualified and experienced teachers.

We believe yoga is for everyone and welcome absolute beginners!

Nurturing, non-competitive yoga

We take an accessible and mindful approach that is in line with yoga's ancient origins as a meditation practice. Our beginners' classes are friendly and supportive and typically comprise people who are brand new to yoga as well as those who have been attending beginners' sessions for a little while.

Attending yoga classes can sometimes be daunting, so we have designed this course to put you at ease. The emphasis is on safely stretching, strengthening, and relaxing through a series of movements, breathing, and relaxation techniques.  You'll also learn the theory behind the practices, so you gain an understanding of the principles and philosophies of yoga as a system of wellbeing.

Teachers are warm, welcoming, sensitive, and highly trained. All classes are taught in a mindful manner, which allows you to progress at your own pace, without pressure.

Whilst our beginners' sessions always vary in style and approach, according to the teacher's background, they have a common goal of teaching the fundamentals of yoga in a safe, attentive and non-judgemental way, allowing for you to become confident in your yoga practice over time.

“Yoga is essentially a practice for your soul, working through the medium of your body.” ~ Tara Fraser

Introduction to yoga postures (asana) - We will take time to gradually learn yoga postures, in a safe, thorough way, paying attention to correct alignment.

Introduction to breathwork (pranayama) - By inviting deeper, slower breathing patterns, we are able to re-balance our central nervous systems and promote feelings of relaxation and wellbeing.

Relaxation - A key part of mental and physical wellbeing, our capacity to relax and re-charge - and move out of our inflamed ‘fight or flight stress response - is re-learned over time.

Meditation -  Introducing accessible meditation practices (often practiced lying down) which can help still the mind and promote feelings of wellness and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.
